Hello, Reader,
Hi! My name is Icess Fernandez Rojas. I am a writer, an educator, a thinker, an observer, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a former girlfriend, and a human.
You may have seen some of my writing around. I have a long-time blog, a space on Medium, and I’ve written articles, stories, poems, and essays.
This newsletter, Dispatch from the Keyframe, is my newest labor of love. This is where I will share stories, ideas, and vignettes about the writing life, book life, and just regular life. I’ll provide some insights and share what I’m listening to and reading. I hope to give you something interesting to read semi-often or, at the very least, an opportunity to think more and deeply about life’s lessons.
So what is a keyframe? This is a delightful word that a friend of mine told me about. As defined by the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, it is a moment that seemed innocuous at the time but ended up marking a diversion into a strange new era of your life … which prevents you from rewinding the past but allows you to move forward without endless buffering.
Thanks for joining me, and thanks for hanging out. Join me in this new era of my life. If you like what you read, subscribe below. If you want to have a conversation, reply to any of the posts. I’ll be happy to read what you say.
